INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO SPECIALIST

Established in 2007, Wellesley Investments & Pensions Ltd is a Financial Advisory Firm specialising in Investment Management, Investment Risk, and Pensions Structures. The company’s clients vary from large pension schemes to high net worth private clients.

DESCRIPTION:

Working as part of the Investments Team, the Investments Portfolio Specialist will have responsibility for the administration of client investment portfolios and contribute to the firm’s investment management process by researching specific investment opportunities and assisting in the day to day management of client portfolios. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to contribute to investment and asset allocation strategy and work on specific projects from time to time aimed at improving investment processes and how we liaise with our client base.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Essential:        Undergraduate Degree (preferably business, maths, science or engineering based)

Desirable:       Financial Masters and/or CFA qualification (or be working towards a CFA qualification)

REQUIREMENTS:

 Essential

  • Strong Numeracy & attention to detail
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to specific deadlines
  • Clear business acumen
  • Strong interest in financial markets
  • Required to obtain the QFA designation

Desirable

  • Some knowledge of VBA/Excel programming
  • Bloomberg Certification
  • 1 year professional experience in financial services or appropriate business discipline

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Working with the Investments Team in the ongoing management and administration of investment portfolios;
  • Day to day administration of investment portfolios – checking and updating client portfolio’s for trading activity and corporate actions (including responsibility for data integrity);
  • Preparing regular investment portfolio reports for clients;
  • Researching different investment securities across equity, fixed income, commodity, real-estate and alternative asset classes;
  • Proactively observing investment markets and conducting basic investment analysis on investment opportunities that may be of benefit to our clients;
  • Reviewing and appraising third-party investment products, funds and other collective investment products and presenting analysis in the form of product notes;
  • Presenting conclusions and recommendations on your market research to management;
  • Participating fully in keeping the team informed of developments in markets as part of morning meetings, investment commentary e-mails and departmental meetings;
